Mercury, the planet of thought and commerce, is combust by the Sun in Libra from October 30th to November 10th, 2026.

This makes Mercury 'combust' or burnt up in the Sun's rays, affecting your decision-making and state of mind. Mercury is also retrograde, meeting the Sun most closely on November 4th and 5th - like an eclipse, bringing subjective thinking and ideas you may need to revise.

In Libra, you see each side of a question so fairly that decisions become hard. Mars may push you into a fixed position before you are ready, and you can find yourself in a leadership position where courage is demanded.

What this looks like in daily life

✦

Wanting to speak your mind while keeping the peace - leaving you saying less than you mean.

✦

Old conversations and decisions come back for review - ideas you thought were settled may need rethinking.

✦

Information overload leads to second-guessing - hard to filter what actually matters.

✦

Mars pushes you into a position before you are ready - more forceful than intended.

✦

November 4th and 5th are the peak - best for reflection, not big decisions.

The hidden gift

Mercury with the Sun also makes Budhaditya Yoga, which promises speechmaking skills and good commercial instincts, as well as giving you potential for educational honors. Your extreme mental focus also sees you confronting openly an issue you would otherwise ignore, though it is wise to get professional advice or talk to a trusted friend for some perspective.
