One quiet evening, Lord Hanuman sat by the ocean, his half-closed eyes watching the gentle waves. Memories filled his heart – the battles he had fought, the victories he had celebrated, and the moment when Lord Rama embraced him for saving Lakshman’s life.

Now older, his strength and sharp memory remained, but he used them only when truly needed.

That evening, Shani (Saturn), the much-feared son of Surya, was walking along the same shore. People believed Shani’s entry into a horoscope could bring great hardships. His gaze fell on the meditating Hanuman. Wanting to test him, Shani shouted, “Wake up!”

Hanuman opened his eyes calmly. “What is it, son?” he asked.

“I have heard you are strong,” Shani said. “Let us fight and see who is greater!”

Hanuman smiled gently. “Go enjoy your walk, son. Why fight with an old monkey?”

But Shani persisted, mocking Hanuman’s strength without Rama by his side. Before he could finish, Hanuman rose to his full height and, without anger, began wrapping his mighty tail around Shani.

Coil after coil, Shani found himself trapped, gasping for breath. Hanuman, still calm, said, “It is time for my parikrama,” and began walking around the sacred Rama Sethu, dragging Shani along. Shani was battered against stones, thorns, and splashed by burning saltwater. “Please stop!” he cried out in agony.

After completing his parikrama, Hanuman gently released the bruised and broken Shani. “Never trouble a peaceful soul just to prove your strength,” Hanuman said.

Shani, humbled and shivering, folded his hands in apology.

“One more thing,” Hanuman added. “You must never trouble anyone who loves me and chants the name of my Lord Rama.”

Shani agreed instantly.

Since that day, people across India pray to Lord Hanuman on Saturdays, seeking protection from hardships. They believe even the greatest difficulties can be softened through devotion to him.

For Hanuman, who loved Rama with pure and fearless devotion, nothing in the universe could ever shake his spirit. By humbling Shani, Hanuman showed the world that true strength comes from love, humility, and faith.
