The Sun, star of soul and self-expression, is in the Gandanda zone between Scorpio and Sagittarius, and Jyeshta and Mula on December 13th until 19th.

This double junction-area extending either side of zodiacal fire and water signs and nakshatras, can bring a period of confusion, where your plans have an unformed quality. You may struggle to get practical business done, as the Sun going through these borderlands tests your natural assurance and sense of identity.

The solar principle is about charisma and confidence, and the Sun also shines a light wherever it travels, but you have to create solid ground under your feet and work extra hard – at least for the first three days of this transit.

December 12th’s New Moon would usually incline you to a new plan of action, but the right conditions and contacts may not be within reach. The Gandanta energy is otherworldly and self-effacing, and people tend to take advantage of your reflective demeanour, and you use up valuable energy in fighting your case.

December 13th sees Mercury, planet of communication, going retrograde, which puts even greater stress on taking your time over a big decision. By December 16th, the Sun enters Sagittarius-Mula, and the atmosphere changes abruptly.

Mula has a disruptive and unconventional quality, so be careful of rushing headlong into any new enterprise. Still, you can put ideas you have thought up in quiet and private out into the world, and your assertiveness comes back with extra strength.
