Why a Homa during an Eclipse?

Eclipse periods have traditionally been considered especially significant for mantra, meditation, prayer and spiritual practices. A Homa brings together two of the most powerful elements of Vedic worship:

Mantra and Agni - sacred sound and sacred fire.

During this Homa, the 1,000 sacred names of Goddess Lalitha Tripura Sundari will be invoked and offerings will be made into the sacred fire.
