Jupiter, planet of faith and philosophy, is in the second pada of Dhanishtha from March 20th to April 5th, the nakshatra stretching across the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius.
Pada two relates to Virgo in the relationship and spirituality Navamsha chart, which brings an underlying intellectual and perfectionist quality to the earthy pragmatism of Capricorn.
Mercury-ruled Virgo is still not the most natural environment for Jupiter, but it enables you to study and think deeply and add detail to your broader knowledge. This is the perfect opportunity to refine and edit a book or media project, or to explore your chosen craft and become a master.
You can also negotiate and open up a dialogue under this transit and come to a compromise which was too complex or muddled before. Jupiter is all about spiritual knowledge, where you can refine your technique and perhaps add some precise yoga postures, along with a clean-living diet.
Dhanishtha is ruled by the Ashta (eight) Vasus, which are the auspicious wealth-givers in Vedic mythology, so with Jupiter as the natural ruler of wealth, you can use your skills to open up a new business.
This nakshatra’s Shakti, or special gift, is also ‘To Bestow Wealth and Fame’, so this Mercury-ruled pada’s association with commerce and deal-making is perfect for making new connections and turning a profit. Dhanishtha is also famous for its association with music, and its symbol The Drum shows a rhythmic pulse where you keep immaculate time.
The emphasis here is on the earthy and practical, where you combine Capricorn’s long-term view with a discriminating outlook and arrive with the best of both worlds.
