Rahu, the shadow planet of desire, is in Dhanishta pada four from August 1st to October 3rd, 2026.

This is a new nakshatra in Rahu’s transit through Aquarius, which focuses on material abundance and success, all issues close to Rahu’s way of seeing the world. Dhanishta’s Shakti, or special gift, to Bestow Wealth and Fame, gives you a desire for a complete package of acclaim, reward, and influence, and the prospect of a sudden breakthrough in your career climb. Pada Four of this asterism relates to Scorpio Navamsha, an intense and transformative place that gives you passionate relationships with mavericks and people on the outside.

You may become preoccupied with a particular person or romantic scenario, and in extreme cases, have a desire to possess or control your partner. Dhanishta is associated with obstacles to relationships, so make sure you are seeing a situation clearly and don’t fall into irrational speculation. Venturing outside your usual boundaries can be liberating, however, and you take your relating to a different and more freedom-oriented place.

This nakshatra is also ruled by the Ashta (eight) Vasus, the wealth-giving devatas in Vedic mythology, which promise a return when you follow the right path. You must decide where to focus and which roads are most worthwhile and rewarding. Dhanishta is also famed for its association with music, and its symbol, The Drum, gives you a sense of rhythm, where Rahu gives you the desire to follow your own beat.

This transit takes in two eclipses, August 12th and especially the Lunar event of August 28th, where Rahu is placed close to the Moon, and makes a powerful moment for clearing and intention-setting.
