Jupiter, planet of expansion and philosophy, is in the third pada of Dhanishtha from April 5th to 25th, the asterism stretching across the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius.

Pada three is in the Aquarius portion of Dhanishtha and relates to Libra navamsha – the relationship and subtle-body chart – which brings an underlying relationship and sharing quality to the impersonal Aquarian nature.

Altogether this is an airy and intellectual pada with a broad-ranging humanitarian soul, but underpinned by a desire for closeness and intimacy. You can find a new relationship from within a group of people, or strike a balance in your search for philosophical truth.

Take care that this transit doesn’t also bring indecision when you weigh up two equally attractive options and are not sure which way to turn. Jupiter is all about spiritual knowledge, and here you see its effects in your personal life and harmonious relations and romantic attraction to others.

Dhanishtha is ruled by the Ashta (eight) Vasus, which are the auspicious wealth-givers in Vedic mythology, so Jupiter as planetary wealth-signifier sees you drawn to Libran luxury and fine quality. You also find a sense of purpose in self-expression, and your creativity puts meaning into your life.

This nakshatra’s Shakti, or special gift, is also ‘To Bestow Wealth and Fame’, so this pada brings renown and prosperity through Venusian good relations, charm and the arts. Dhanishtha is famous for its association with music in particular, and its symbol The Drum shows a beating heart.

The emphasis here is on the airy and philosophical, where you combine Aquarius’s long-term view with a charming and inclusive outlook, and emerge with the best of both worlds.
