Venus, the planet of love and art, is in Uttara Bhadrapada, in the sign of Pisces, from February 1st to April 1st, the nakshatra whose name literally means ‘beautiful left foot’.

This greatly extended transit comes due to Venus’s retrograde phase from March 2nd and sees a bigger focus on Uttara’s benevolent and spiritual energy. There is an opportunity for you to gain insight into somebody close to you who may be acting strangely and needs a little more understanding. A scenario from the past may also repeat and give you a second chance to connect with a lover or friend. Even the unlikeliest relationship can be sparked or revived at this time, and there is no sense of the impossible.

Try to keep some perspective, however, especially if a new partner appears unexpectedly who is completely outside your usual type and experience. Uttara’s ruler, Ahirbudhnya, the Serpent of the Deep, shows you getting into committed sharing and immersion in your meditation – this deity is often identified with the kundalini ‘serpent’ energy at the base of the spine, which rises during intense yoga practice. Going into meditation and reflection together creates a profound level of rapport and intuition.

Uttara’s Shakti, or special power, for ‘Bringing Rain’ in the sense of stimulating new ideas and growth, is linked to abundance and luxury – all themes close to Venus’s heart – and you may also bond over a passion for and practice of art. Venus’s sign exchange with visionary Jupiter is both an opportunity and challenge, where you connect differing philosophies and try to find greater romantic freedom and trust. This present transit repeats again by the end of April when a persistent issue comes around for a resolution.
