The Total Solar Eclipse of October 2nd arrives with the Sun and Moon closely conjunct mystical Ketu in Virgo-Hasta.
A plan or ambition that has faded in importance lately may finish decisively at this point, or else the matter is taken out of your hands by a quirk of fate. Sudden change can be stressful, and solar eclipses especially create an intensity where you are overwhelmed by a concern that’s out of all proportion to reality. So pace yourself, especially if you are feeling restless or irritable on the day.
The eclipse ruler Mercury in strength in Virgo gives you powers of rational thought, but Mercury is also under the beams of the eclipse and your mind may play tricks on you. You can overthink a problem rather than go with your original instinct, and the influence of dynamic Mars also gives you an impulsive streak that overreacts to the smallest thing. Take care of leaping into any business, even if it seems you have to act quickly before a moment passes you by.
Take a deep breath and move on if anyone tries to pick an argument. The eclipse’s impact can last months or even years into the future, and an unexpected meeting may have consequences you can’t yet see. This is not a good day for travel, business, or any major enterprise, and if possible, wait at least 24 hours before committing yourself.
As always, however, the eclipse gives you much greater value for your meditation and spiritual work, and you can clear a longstanding problem on the invisible level. The eclipse’s path of visibility goes over the Pacific Ocean and South America, so be especially mindful if you are in those regions, and avoid the Sun’s direct rays.
