Jupiter, the planet of faith and expansion, moves closely alongside the Sun from July 14th to Aug 13th, 2026.

The Sun and Jupiter are great planetary friends that support each other’s affairs, with strong, positive, and affirming mutual energy. The bright Sun’s glare, however, obscures anything close to it, to the point of symbolically burning a planet and making it invisible, rather like the effect of an eclipse. Even in its most powerful sign of Cancer, a combust Jupiter lacks its usual powers of generosity and emotional protection, where your attitude becomes more of ‘hit-and-hope’ than acting from any true knowledge.

You may be under the influence of a powerful or overbearing character whom you want to impress and lose your independence of thought and intuition. Or else you put your trust in a suspect or unreliable information source or abandon your guiding principles at work in search of a quick fix. Jupiter coming together with the Sun may also overcompensate for inner doubt with an egocentric attitude, where you take for granted your status or fortune, rather than basing it on intrinsic merit.

You should be careful of venturing too far outside familiar surroundings for a time, where travel and exploration are frustrated. Combustion comes to maximum effect from July 26th to August 1st when an apparent setback makes you think again about a big ambition. The Sun and Jupiter are flanked by sweet-natured Mercury and Venus up to August 1st, however, which gives you a measure of extra protection and support.
